In less than 30 minutes
Ingredients
- 300 g kale
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- 5 to 6 tbsp. nutritional yeast (also known as nooch or brewer’s yeast)
- ¼ tsp. salt
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 150°C (turn off the fan if convection is used).
- Mix olive oil, nutritional yeast and salt until smooth.
- Wash and dry kale thoroughly. Remove stems and break leaves into pieces.
- Toss kale with seasoning mix until well coated.
- Bake at 150°C for 7 minutes. Turn the kale over and bake for a further 7 minutes, or until crisp.
Tips for crispy chips
- Dry the leaves well
- Avoid drowning leaves in oil
- Roll the kale leaves with a rolling pin to spread them out evenly.
- Stop cooking immediately if leaves turn brown
Seasoning ideas
It is possible to add to the mixture, for example:
- Spices (garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, cayenne pepper…)
- Pre-ground seeds or seeds for decoration: sunflower seeds, cashew nuts, sesame seeds, pine nuts, etc.
